Kubuntu 9.04 with updates through 9/25
WinFF from launchpad

If I try to add a file, the application crashes.  Running from the command line gives me this output:

These errors appear when the program is launched:

Update

I tried to build from source, downloaded Lazarus from the repositories, but I can't open the project file either.  When I try to navigate to another directory after Project > Open, the application crashes.

I'm guessing there's some problem between Gtk and KDE, but I'm not a developer.  I can open lazarus-ide from the menu, but not from the command line.  I get "No protocol specified" followed by Gtk saying it can't open the display.  startlazarus returns the same error.

Thanks for reporting this issue. Two things:
1) Could you file a bug in our bugtracker: http://code.google.com/p/winff/issues/list
2) I will create a debugging package soon (i.e. maybe tonight). Please install that once it is available and report the stacktrace again (in the bugtracker).

Thanks, Paul.  I've posted the bug at Google Code.  I'll keep an eye out for the debugger.

on Kubuntu 9.10 this happens as well but I found if you go into system settings > Appearance > GTK+Appearance and change the Widget Style from QTCurve to Raleigh it no longer crashes. you can then change back to QTCurve so Firefox doesn't look ugly.

Also, if you want a selection install all available gtk+ themes from synaptic and you can choose a look that fits better with your kde theme. all gtk+ themes I tried worked fine, the only one that seems to crash winff is QTCurve

Could you please continue this thread in our bug-tracker: http://code.google.com/p/winff/issues/detail?id=55

Could you install winff-dbg? It will give us the proper symbols (I hope) to help find out where this goes wrong. I will try to reproduce this myself later, but not in the neighborhood of Kubuntu now.
