Unable to create file error in WinFF

Hello!
It seems I found a bug:

If a Windows user name contains Russian characters (Cyrillic) - the program crashing with an error message «unable to create file ""»
And it seems the problem is not only for Cyrillic users: http://www.onmy.org/2009/06/24/winff-error/

C:\Users\LatUsername\AppData\Roaming\Winff — ok!
C:\Users\CyrUsername\AppData\Roaming\Winff — fail.
C:\Users\NotLatUsername\AppData\Roaming\Winff — ?

Looks like an extention of bug 10 [1]. Could you please also add your information there?

Matt: do you think we should see if upstream fpc is able to fix this?

Maybe it makes sense to store program settings in the catalog winff? At least optional?

do you mean the registry?

The registry will not fix it as it is also a problem in other parts of the program as well.


Lazarus is up to date on 1.04. When the new one comes out. I think it might be a while. 1.0 might becoming.
